Welcome, we’re excited to have you row with us.
This page is designed to answer the most common questions first‑time rowers have so you can arrive confident, comfortable, and ready to enjoy your class.
What to Expect in Your First Class
Your first rowing class is fully coach‑led and beginner‑friendly.
You will:
Learn proper rowing technique step by step
Warm up thoroughly before any harder effort
Alternate between rowing and strength or core work
Move at your own pace, there is no pressure to keep up
Our coaches focus on form, posture, and long‑term health, not just burning calories.
Do I Need Rowing Experience?
No experience is required.
Most first‑time clients have never rowed before. We’ll teach you everything you need to know during class, including:
How the rowing machine works
Proper posture and breathing
Rowing is low‑impact and scalable, which makes it great for beginners and experienced athletes alike. We will teach you proper form but don't be too tough on yourself as this is a learned skill; practice makes perfect!
What Should I Wear?
Please wear:
Athletic clothing you can move comfortably in
Sneakers or trainers
Optional but helpful:
Water bottle
No special equipment is required, everything else is provided.
When Should I Arrive?
Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first class.
This allows time for:
Quick check‑in
Erg setup
A brief intro with your coach
Arriving early helps the class start on time and ensures you get the most out of your experience.
What Is the Class Environment Like?
Power Rowing is known for being:
Supportive
Welcoming
Community‑focused
Our goal is to help you build strength, confidence, and consistency over time.
Is This a Sales Pitch?
No.
There is no pressure to join, no contracts, and no obligation after your first class.
If you enjoy the experience, we’ll happily walk you through membership options. If not, we’re glad you tried rowing with us.
